End-to-end encrypted
Private messages, private groups and private media follow MARCO’s encrypted path. If encryption cannot be established, the private flow stops.
No phone number required
A pseudonymous account is created without requiring a phone number, email, wallet or Passport.
Recovery without an admin backdoor
Your recovery kit stays encrypted and user-held. MARCO has no support override or escrow key that can recover plaintext.
Destruction code
A separate local code invalidates protected device roots and revokes that installation. It cannot erase copies already held elsewhere.
Disappearing messages
User-set expiration removes eligible content locally on schedule. It is not an anti-screenshot guarantee.
Multi-device trust
Each installation has distinct keys. New devices are explicitly verified and can be revoked.
Private contact invites
Invite people without publishing a contact graph. Raw address-book data is not required for a private connection.
Expression stays private
MARCOmoji, stickers and emoji stay within the conversation. Message FX are selected after local decryption—not by a behavioral profile.

Reviewed September 2026. “Mode-dependent” matters: Telegram Secret Chats are 1:1 E2EE and device-specific; ordinary Cloud Chats and groups are not E2EE by default. WhatsApp personal messages remain off-limits for ad targeting, while its Updates surfaces can use limited account and interaction data. Signal remains a legitimate privacy benchmark.
